Multiple funded Research Assistantship positions (for PhD students) are available at the Environmental Fluid Mechanics Lab at the Center for Natural Resources at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (http://nrdp.njit.edu), located 20 minutes from downtown New York City. Students could be enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field. The researchers in the CNR have been conducting research on fundamental and applied aspects of fluid dynamics, especially in relation to multiphase flow. The research is 70/30 modeling/experimental, and the latter would be
conducted using the latest techniques for detection and visualization.
Candidates with Master degree are preferred, and they should have good communication skills, willing-to-learn attitude, and solid knowledge of fluid mechanics and mathematics. Prior experience in CFD modeling and coding is an asset but not required.
